I’m a Kansas native who relocated to Colorado shortly after completing my education. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University, solidifying a strong foundation in both fields.
In my free time, you can find me at the gym or indulging in my love for board sports. Whether it’s surfing the waves or snowboarding down the slopes, I cherish every moment spent outdoors.
With over a decade of experience in the strength and conditioning arena, I have dedicated my career to working primarily with strength athletes, focusing on CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, and Powerlifting. My personal journey has been shaped by two major surgeries, which taught me the importance of discipline and perseverance in recovering from significant setbacks.
The founding of Power in Movement was born out of my frustration with the inadequate treatments I received from three different providers after my surgeries. I was often told that I would never return to high-level competition and was advised to rest and reduce my activity. These experiences ignited a passion in me to make a difference in the field of physical therapy. My mission is to provide the highest quality care, ensuring that individuals who experience major injuries can return to peak performance levels.
Uriah Gracia
My name is Uriah, and I grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wyoming and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Touro University Nevada. Throughout my life, I’ve been involved in various sports, ranging from Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, powerlifting, football, and track.
I excel in working with grapplers, including both jiu-jitsu hobbyists and competitors. I believe that being involved in this sport provides me with deeper insight into understanding grapplers and the demands of their sport. I can easily empathize with what they are experiencing physically AND mentally. I’ve suffered injuries before that required me to take extended time off, and I recognize how challenging it can be to take time away from training, especially after you’ve been bitten by the jiu-jitsu bug. My greatest fulfillment comes from helping grapplers overcome setbacks, return to training, and reignite their passion for their sport.
I love jiu-jitsu because it's a powerful metaphor for life. It teaches that at the start of any endeavor, you're going to struggle for months, maybe even years. But ultimately, it's about cultivating the discipline and determination to endure this initial phase, and persevering until you achieve your goals.
